Features

Your Customer Server

LODB Customer Server is the media application you run on your own hardware. The separate Master handles registration, licensing and signed releases. The Business Manager is an operator tool, not the media player.

Organise your library

Organise your media with library scanning, movie and TV organisation, metadata, local artwork, NFO support and collections.

Playback and progress

Choose playback options, use supported transcoding routes and return to saved viewing progress. A compatible device, media format and correctly configured server are required.

Watch Together

Create and join rooms for synchronised playback. Bring people together on supported clients; availability and playback quality depend on your devices and network.

Automatic DNS and your LODB address

A personalised LODB subdomain gives your server a recognisable address. Automatic DNS updates can keep its record aligned with a changing public IP. Eligible active licensing, correct remote-access setup and internet connectivity are required. A hostname does not bypass router, firewall, ISP or DNS-propagation constraints.

Watch Together: make movie night a shared moment

Host a room and invite authorised users to join synchronised playback on supported clients. Camera and voice features depend on supported client and relay configuration. This is not a promise of universal device support or perfectly simultaneous playback on every network.

Playback choices

Direct Play avoids conversion when the client supports the source. Remuxing changes the container where appropriate. Software and hardware transcoding paths are available subject to supported hardware, drivers, media and server settings. Audio and subtitle selection, saved progress and per-user access controls support everyday viewing.

Release status matters

These pages describe the reviewed Customer Server capabilities. Public release downloads and a release-specific compatibility list are still being prepared. No universal device, codec, HDR, remote-access or performance guarantee is made.

Find it. Save it. Come back to it.

Search across accessible movies, TV, episodes and music. Browse collections, save favourites and organise playlists. Library permissions determine what each signed-in user can see.

Make playback your own

Supported clients offer audio and subtitle selection, resume and playback controls. The Windows client includes Home, Watch Together, Search, Collections, Playlists, Language, Favourites and My devices navigation. Administrator-only user and library controls are separate from regular viewing.

Connect securely

The reviewed Windows app checks the Customer Server’s signed identity and HTTPS connection before sending sign-in credentials. Optional Remember Me uses Windows account-bound encryption. Server setup and trustworthy certificates remain necessary; this is not a claim that every network or configuration is secure.

Control and administration

Customer administration includes user permissions, library configuration, backup and signed-update controls. Keep recovery copies and review release instructions before an update.

Use media you have rights to

LODB does not include a film or music subscription. You supply your own media and remain responsible for permissions and lawful use.
